John D. Weinhold, who, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, was one of the most reliable volunteers of Buhl Planetarium's Astronomical Observatory, passed-away on March 21 in Pittsburgh. The Allentown, Pennsylvania native was age 81.

There was no viewing or funeral; his remains were cremated. However, John will be remembered at the annual Memorial Day Weekend memorial ceremony, at the Beechview veterans' memorial parklet, at the corner of Broadway and Shiras Avenue, this SATURDAY, 2011 May 28 at 10:00 a.m. EDST,.
